* Description: An evergreen woody shrub, up to 1 meter tall, with pale green, narrow linear leaves and violet blue flowers.
* Color: Pale yellow with a tint of green
* Common Uses: Herbalist regards Lavender as the most useful and versatile essential oil for therapeutic purposes. Lavender is the essential oil most commonly associated with burns and healing of the skin. It also has antiseptic and analgesic properties which will ease the pain of a burn and prevent infection. It also has cytophylactic properties that promote rapid healing and help reduce scarring. The scent of Lavender is said to have a calming effect on the body and it can be used to reduce anxiety, stress and promote sleep. Lavender Bulgarian is a very therapeutic grade comparable in status to the better known Lavender Population. The different soil, temperature, precipitation, etc. contributes to some subtle changes in scent, the greatest advantage being for more sophisticated label claims.

* History: Lavender is adapted to living in a dry climate and is native to the western half of the Mediterranean, reaching altitudes of up to 1800 meters. It is believed that the Romans and the Benedictine monks subsequently introduced it to rest of Europe.

This is one of my very favorite Lavenders as it is a bit sweeter than the others. A true lavender scent and as with all Lavenders a MUST HAVE in any aromatherapists' repetoire. This could be my favorite lavender, great for therapy of all kinds, fresh scent. I like the orafice reducers on these bottles. I use Lavender for everything, headaches, sleep, anxiety, of course massage. I use it on my skin with too for blackheads and acne. I know essential oils are good for me, the whole aromatherapy world I know exists out there. My wife has been getting into cleaning with this stuff. She used vinegar, water and this essential oil along with tea tree and lemongrass. I was a little shocked at first, but cleans really well. I love the aroma of lavendar and the health properties associated with it. This particular product is excellent for promoting hair growth; for preventing scars and for aromatherapeutic uses. It has a gentle aroma and feels quite pleasant on the skin. It can also be used on bites to reduce itching. You can also place a drop of this oil on a towel in your bathroom so as to have a pleasant aroma.

I am new to oils and have been told lavender is great to help relax. After searching for a pure oil that won't leave an overwhelming smell, I purchased this one based on the reviews. I have tried it and I like very much. The smell is great not real strong but you still get the benefits of what you would look for in a lavender scent.
